As the summer holidays draw to a close, Prague Zoo is pulling out all the stops to ensure visitors end their vacation on a high note. From August 29th to September 1st, the zoo has planned exciting events that promise to delight animal lovers of all ages.
The highlight of the festivities is the zoo’s generous offer of one-crown entry for children under 15 on Friday, August 30th. This symbolic gesture allows families to enjoy a day of wildlife exploration without breaking the bank.
But that’s not all—the zoo also hosts its final “Prague Zoo Under Ice” event on Thursday, August 29th. Visitors can witness ten tons of ice being distributed throughout the zoo, providing a refreshing treat for animals and humans. Various species, from polar bears to capybaras, will revel in this cool respite from the summer heat.
The weekend brings more excitement with a family quiz game throughout the zoo grounds and special puppet shows featuring the beloved Czech character Hurvínek. These performances, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, promise to entertain visitors aged four and up.
The grand finale is International Primate Day, which is celebrated on Sunday, September 1st. Visitors can look forward to informative displays about primates and special feeding sessions for various species, including gorillas, orangutans, and lemurs.
As a fitting conclusion to the summer season, these will be the last days when the zoo remains open until 7 PM. From September 2nd, closing time will shift to 6 PM, marking the transition into the autumn schedule.
