New vaccination centers without registration opened on Wednesday in Ostrava, Zlín, and the Hradec Králové Region in the Czech Republic. Those interested can now visit the Brno shopping center without making an appointment.
Two hours before the Olympia in Brno opened, the first people interested in vaccinations were already waiting outside the gate. Up to 800 people can be vaccinated per day by health personnel. Pfizer/BioNTech offers a two-dose vaccine, while Johnson & Johnson provides a single-dose vaccine.
“The Johnson vaccination has sparked a lot of attention. However, it is obvious that people desire to travel, and the single-dose vaccine is unquestionably more convenient, ” the director of St. Anne’s University Hospital, Vlastimil Vajdák, added.
The Brno vaccination center is open to anybody over the age of 16, including self-payers, without requiring prior registration. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week. “There are two doctors and two nurses here so that we can vaccinate two people at once. We will raise the number depending on the level of interest. ” Dana Lipovská, a Brno hospital official, remarked
Other centers in Ostrava and Zlín opened on Wednesday. The Ministry of Health expects that through increasing vaccine coverage, people will be better protected against covid. However, health officials are now focusing their efforts primarily on border areas, where vaccination coverage is still low.
“We want to include mobile vaccination teams as much as possible so that we can reach everyone,” stated Health Minister Adam Vojtěch.
