Agricultural producer  prices continue to rise year-on-year

Agricultural producer prices rose 33.6 percent year-on-year in September but fell 1.3 percent month-on-month. Prices for industrial producers rose 25.8 percent year on year and 1.2 percent month on month.

Construction prices rose by 13.1 percent year-on-year and 0.3 percent month-on-month. This was shown by data published on Monday by the Czech Statistical Office (CSO).

In the month-on-month comparison, the prices of fodder crops fell the most in agriculture, by 9.5 percent. Fruit prices (down 0.6 percent) and cereal prices (down 0.1 percent) were also slightly lower. On the other hand, potato prices increased significantly by almost 35 percent.

The year-on-year increases in September were mainly for cereals (up 51.8 percent), oilseeds (up 37.3 percent), potatoes (up 31.5 percent), and fresh vegetables (up 17.1 percent). However, fruit, for example, became cheaper by 3.7 percent year-on-year.

For industrial producers, energy played a significant role in the price increase. The electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning sectors rose by 6.7 percent month-on-month and by a whopping 64 percent year-on-year.

According to the CSO, prices for construction work increased 13.1 percent year on year, while prices for materials and products consumed in the construction sector increased 18.3 percent.
