Christmas Magic Rolls Through Prague’s Streets on Festive Trams

Petr Horník

Prague’s public transport system has transformed into a magical holiday spectacle as seven festively decorated trams and two buses illuminate the city streets during the advent season. This enchanting display will continue until Three Kings’ Day on January 6, 2025.

The fleet, including the beloved “Mazačka” tram, sparkles with an impressive array of 32,000 lights complemented by interior decorations and special winter and Christmas-themed exterior wraps.

In a heartwarming initiative, the trams carry seventy wishes written by children from orphanages across the Czech Republic. Passengers can participate in making these wishes come true, adding a meaningful dimension to the festive experience.

To enhance the holiday atmosphere, traditional Czech Christmas carols serenade passengers as they travel between stops. For those wanting to catch these festive vehicles, detailed schedules can be found on the Prague Public Transport Company’s website.
