The last week of June will bring big temperature swings and frequent showers reminiscent of April weather, according to meteorologist Dagmar Honsová. The tropical temperatures on Monday will be cut off by the passage of a cold front that will bring precipitation and strong winds. Temperatures ideal for water activities should return at the end of the week, but thunderstorms will also be a threat.
Honsová said, “On Monday later in the afternoon, a cold front will affect our area from the west, and thunderstorms will occur mainly in the western and northwestern parts of the territory,” adding that it will be accompanied by winds with speeds of 70 to 80 km/h. Precipitation amounts should be around 15 mm. Honsová continued, “We will talk about more thunderstorms from Friday.”
Monday will be the warmest day of the week, with afternoon temperatures rising to 26-30 °C and possibly up to 32 °C in Polabí and the western territory.
Tuesday
It will be mostly clear to partly cloudy in the morning, and scattered showers or rain, and occasionally even thunderstorms, are expected in the afternoon and evening. Morning temperatures will range from 16 to 12 °C, and afternoon temperatures will be between 20 and 24 °C.
Wednesday
It will also be cloudy on Wednesday, and scattered showers or rain are expected in some places. Morning temperatures will drop to 14-10 °C, and afternoon temperatures will again be between 20 and 24 °C.
Thursday
We can look forward to the return of summer temperatures on Thursday. It will be mostly clear to partly cloudy, and occasionally, scattered showers or thunderstorms are expected. Morning temperatures will be between 14 and 10 °C, and afternoon temperatures will reach 23-27 °C.
Friday
We will not escape isolated showers or thunderstorms on Friday either. The sky will be partly clear and temporarily cloudy during the day. Morning temperatures will rise to 16-12 °C; in the afternoon, temperatures will be between 26 and 30 °C.
Thunderstorms will mark the upcoming first holiday weekend. Both weekend days will be partly clear to cloudy.
Saturday
Scattered showers or thunderstorms are also expected in some places on Saturday. Morning temperatures will range from 14 to 10 °C, and afternoon temperatures will remain just below 30 °C, ranging from 25 to 29 °C.
Sunday
There may still be occasional showers or thunderstorms on Sunday. Morning temperatures will rise to 16-12 °C, and afternoon temperatures will again be between 25 and 29 °C.
