Damaged Overhead Power Lines Disrupt Operations at Prague’s Masarykovo Nádraží

On Monday, operations at Prague’s Masarykovo nádraží were disrupted due to damage to the overhead power lines. According to the Railway Administration, only trains heading towards Kralupy nad Vltavou were able to depart without complications.

The incident occurred during ongoing reconstruction work at the station, leading to significant delays and rerouting of services. Trains on the S1 line heading towards Kolín terminated at Praha-Libeň station and were subsequently redirected to the main station. Only trains from Kralupy and Ústí nad Labem continued to stop at Masarykovo nádraží

The Railway Administration expects to restore full operations by 2:30 PM. The station is undergoing a major modernization project that is set to last several years. This reconstruction work, combined with the track closure under Vítkov, has further complicated operations. During the summer holidays, all S2 line trains heading towards Nymburk have also been rerouted to the main station.

The inconvenience caused by these disruptions is expected to affect daily commuters and travelers. However, the Railway Administration assures that these upgrades are necessary for long-term improvements. Passengers are advised to check for updates and plan their journeys accordingly.

As the modernization project progresses, the Railway Administration is committed to minimizing disruptions and providing timely information to passengers. The upgrades will ultimately enhance the capacity and efficiency of the station, benefiting all users.

Stay tuned for further updates on the restoration of services and progress on the modernization project. Your patience and understanding during this period are greatly appreciated.
