Historic military vehicles, accompanied by the stirring sounds of military band music, made their grand entrance in front of the U.S. Embassy in Prague this Friday morning, marking the start of the Freedom Convoy celebrations.

The event kicks off the commemorative celebrations for the 80th anniversary of World War II’s end, with the main festivities set to culminate in Plzeň during the first weekend of May.

In a moving ceremony, convoy participants raised the American flag outside the embassy, while the Czech Army Central Band delivered a powerful performance that echoed through the streets of Prague.

Following the embassy ceremony, the convoy began its journey to Plzeň, the West Bohemian capital, where it will participate in further memorial events that honor the region’s liberation legacy.
