The week ahead promises a dramatic shift in weather patterns across the Czech Republic, starting with early morning frost before transitioning into warm, spring-like conditions. Monday morning will see temperatures hovering around freezing, but this will be the last glimpse of winter’s chill for the week.
Under the influence of a high-pressure system, the country can expect plenty of sunshine and above-average temperatures. Monday will set the tone with clear to partly cloudy skies and temperatures reaching 18-22°C, while mountain areas above 1000m will experience milder conditions around 14°C.
As we move into Wednesday, conditions will be perfect for the traditional “witch-burning” celebrations, with temperatures climbing to 20-24°C under mostly clear skies. Only the northeastern mountain regions might see occasional scattered showers. This year’s celebrations are particularly anticipated, as last year’s events were largely canceled due to drought conditions and fire risks.
The pleasant weather will continue through Thursday (May 1st), maintaining similar temperatures between 20-24°C. However, a change is expected by Friday as a low-pressure trough approaches from the west, bringing moisture and cooler conditions from the northwest.
The weekend will usher in a moderate cooling trend with cloudy skies and scattered rainfall. Temperatures will gradually decrease to 11-16°C, with nighttime temperatures dropping to between 7 and 2°C.
