Motorists in the Czech Republic can rejoice as fuel prices at gas stations have recently experienced another decline. Over the past week, the average cost of the most popular gasoline variant, Natural 95, dropped by 31 haléřs, reaching 36.52 Kč per liter. Simultaneously, diesel prices saw a significant decrease, with an average of 31.13 Kč per liter. These figures indicate a considerable drop of 61 haléřs compared to the previous week and mark the lowest fuel prices since July 2021. These findings have been reported by CCS, a company responsible for monitoring fuel prices.
The downward trend in gasoline prices began earlier this year, specifically in early February, when prices exceeded 37.70 Kč per liter. Since then, the average price of gasoline has continued to decline, reaching a point of nearly 37.90 Kč per liter approximately a month ago. Comparing the current prices with those from a year ago, it becomes apparent that Natural 95 was about 8.30 Kč more expensive per liter. In contrast, diesel costs nearly half of its present value.
Among the different regions in the country, drivers in the South Bohemian Region currently enjoy the most affordable fuel prices. Gasoline, on average, costs 36.11 Kč per liter in this area, while diesel is priced at 30.26 Kč per liter. In contrast, gas stations in Prague consistently maintain the highest prices throughout the region. The average cost of a liter of Natural 95 in the capital city is 37.42 Kč, while diesel is sold at an average price of 33.04 Kč per liter.
These declining fuel prices are welcome news for drivers, relieving their transportation expenses. Lower fuel costs can positively impact household budgets, offering more flexibility for other expenditures. Moreover, reduced fuel prices can benefit industries heavily relying on transportation, including logistics, delivery services, and public transportation providers.
