Ground Frost Returns: Weather Alert for Czech Republic

The Czech Republic is bracing for a cooler week ahead, with temperatures hovering between average and below-average levels from May 5th to May 11th. After recent thunderstorms swept across the country, a cold front lingering over the Alps is set to influence the weather patterns.

Meteorologists warn of widespread ground frost, particularly during mid-week. The cold snap is driven by chilly air masses flowing from the north and northeast, guided by a high-pressure system over northwestern Europe. The Czech Hydrometeorological Institute expects this cold air influx to weaken by week’s end.

Daily temperatures will range from 9 to 14°C on Monday, with scattered showers in the south and southeast. Tuesday will see slightly warmer conditions, with highs between 12 and 16°C. The coldest periods will occur during early morning hours, with temperatures potentially dropping to freezing levels in some regions.

The weekend outlook shows gradual improvement, with Sunday temperatures reaching 13 to 18°C during prolonged sunny periods. However, scattered showers remain possible, with snow still expected on mountain peaks.
