Prague’s beloved Matějská Pouť, celebrating its 430th anniversary this year, is set to transform the Holešovice Exhibition Grounds from February 22 to April 21. Visitors can enjoy the festivities on weekdays from noon to 9 PM and weekends from 10 AM to 10 PM, with hundreds of attractions awaiting thrill-seekers.
The carnival’s star attraction this year is the return of the Cyclone roller coaster, making its comeback after a seven-year absence. Adding to the excitement are two giant Ferris wheels – a 28-meter wheel in the upper section and an impressive 50-meter wheel with enclosed cabins in the lower area. New additions include a panoramic cinema and a renovated centrifuge ride.
Food enthusiasts won’t be disappointed, with traditional favorites like sausages, langos, trdelník pastries, and pancakes on offer. For the adventurous, there might even be a unique food stall serving fried insects and worms.
Entry is free on weekdays, with a modest 30 crown fee on weekends. Attraction prices remain unchanged from last year, ranging from 60 to 250 crowns.
Due to ongoing tram track repairs, a special tram line (No. 36) will operate on weekends between 1 PM and 8 PM at 15-minute intervals, connecting key city points to the fairground.
