The Czech Republic’s eastern regions are bracing for hazardous weather conditions as meteorologists sound the alarm over potential black ice formation.
The Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (CHMI) has issued a “low-level danger” warning for most of eastern Czech Republic, excluding the far northeastern regions of Jeseník, Krnov, Ostrava, and Frýdek-Místek areas.
Weather experts point to a complex atmospheric layering that could bring a mix of precipitation types. Residents should be prepared for freezing rain or drizzle, sleet, and possibly snow later in the day. The good news is that precipitation is expected to decrease towards evening.
The warning is set to expire Tuesday night, but authorities advise citizens to remain cautious during this period.
