Powerful winds will blow this weekend, the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ) warned on Friday. Meteorologists have issued a high-risk warning for Sunday, with wind speeds of up to 110 km/h. Snow will also fall in some regions on Saturday.
Meteorologists expect problems with wind mainly on Sunday. The warning is valid for the whole Czech Republic, with a high-risk warning for Prague, the Central Bohemia Region, the Ústí nad Labem Region, the Liberec Region, the Hradec Králové Region, the Pardubice Region, the Vysočina Region, the South Moravia Region, and the Olomouc Region.
Due to strong winds and snowfall, snow tongues may form at higher altitudes in parts of the Vysočina, South Bohemia, Plzeň, Karlovy Vary, Ústí nad Labem, Liberec, Hradec Kralove, Pardubice, Olomouc and Moravia-Silesia regions on Friday.
