The Czech Republic experienced an extraordinarily warm weekend, with temperatures soaring above average. The summery weather is set to continue until Tuesday, when temperatures could reach as high as 28°C. However, a drastic shift in the weather pattern is expected by Wednesday, with temperatures across most regions dropping by more than 10°C, ushering in several days of April-like conditions. Despite this cool-down, temperatures are forecasted to rebound and approach summer-like levels of 25°C by the weekend.
The weather is predicted to be partly sunny on Monday, although cloud cover may increase throughout the day. Morning temperatures will range between 16°C and 12°C, while daytime temperatures are expected to climb to between 23°C and 28°C. Similar temperatures are anticipated for Tuesday, which is forecasted to be partly to mostly cloudy. Cloud cover will gradually increase from the west, and by evening, rain or showers could develop in the western part of the country.
Isolated thunderstorms could also occur. Morning temperatures on Tuesday will be between 15°C and 10°C, rising to between 23°C and 27°C during the day. “The very warm southwesterly flow will be ended by the passage of a waving cold front, which will begin to influence our weather from the west on Tuesday evening,” said meteorologist Dagmar Honsová.
A dramatic cooldown of 10°C is expected on Wednesday. It will be overcast, with rain or showers in some areas and isolated thunderstorms. Morning temperatures will be between 11°C and 7°C, and these are not expected to change much during the day, with the forecast predicting 11°C to 15°C.
On Thursday, the weather will be partly sunny, with the increased cloud cover possibly leading to isolated showers. Morning temperatures will be between 6°C and 1°C, and ground frost could occur. Daytime temperatures are expected to rise to between 14°C and 18°C.
With the weekend approaching, temperatures will begin to rise. On Friday, the weather will be partly to mostly cloudy, with showers possible in some areas. Morning temperatures will drop between 6°C and 1°C, and ground frost may occur. Daytime temperatures will be between 18°C and 22°C.
