The Czech Republic is set to experience continued mild weather with temperatures reaching up to 10°C (50°F) through the end of January. However, a significant weather shift is approaching for the weekend, as cold northwestern air masses are expected to bring snow to mid-elevation areas by Sunday.
According to meteorologist Dagmar Honsová, the warm southwestern airflow will persist early in the week, though a cold front will pass through on Tuesday. The real temperature drop isn’t expected until the weekend, when winter conditions will finally make their return.
The week begins with foggy mornings and mostly cloudy skies, with afternoon temperatures ranging from 6 to 11°C. Eastern regions will experience strong southern winds with gusts up to 55 km/h, reaching 70 km/h in mountainous areas.
Midweek will bring variable cloudiness with occasional showers and mountain snow, while Thursday and Friday will see morning fog and temperatures hovering around freezing at dawn, rising to 5-10°C during the day.
The weekend will mark the return of winter conditions, with Sunday bringing snow to medium elevations and daytime temperatures dropping to just 1-5°C.
