The new Praha-Bubny railway station will open its observation deck to the public starting September 1, 2025. Visitors will be able to enjoy panoramic views of Prague under the supervision of Railway Administration staff, who announced the opening today on social media platform X. The station has been in trial operation since early August, with construction work still ongoing.

“We’ve successfully established all the conditions to ensure visitors’ safety,” stated the Railway Administration. “Visitors will be able to enjoy views of Prague from a new perspective in complete safety.” According to spokesperson Nela Eberl Friebová, the deck will be open Monday through Saturday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

The observation deck is only temporary, however. It will eventually be replaced by a multi-story administrative extension, according to Zdopravy.cz. The Railway Administration itself has expressed interest in utilizing this future extension.

The station’s construction is part of Prague’s railway modernization between Bubny and Výstaviště, which includes the new Výstaviště stop. The largely rebuilt track, which resumed operations simultaneously with the station, cost 5.644 billion Czech crowns. This section forms part of the railway connection from the city center to the airport, with reconstruction increasing the track’s capacity.

The new Bubny station serves routes to Kralupy nad Vltavou, Ústí nad Labem, and Kladno. The building stands on pillars, with the lower section designated for shops and other commercial spaces. Passengers access trains via escalators or elevators. Meanwhile, the original old station building has been under renovation since July, being transformed into a memorial center commemorating the deportation of Jews from this station.
