Prague Half Marathon to Impact City Traffic This Saturday

Thousands of runners, from amateur enthusiasts to elite athletes, will take to the historic streets of Prague on April 5th for the city’s prestigious half marathon. Starting at 10 AM from Bubenské nábřeží in Holešovice, the race will wind through five districts of Prague, primarily along the Vltava River, with an expected finish around 1 PM.

The event will bring significant traffic modifications to the city center. Parking restrictions will be strictly enforced along the route, with authorities warning that any remaining vehicles will be towed to ensure runners’ safety. Road closures will be implemented progressively between 9 AM and 1:30 PM as runners make their way through the course.

The start and finish area at Bubenské nábřeží will face extended closures from April 4th at 6 AM until April 5th at 8 PM. The race route encompasses major thoroughfares across Prague 1, including iconic locations such as Čechův Bridge, Old Town Square, and the Dvořák Embankment.

To minimize disruption, the metro system will serve as the primary means of transportation through the city center, with additional services planned to accommodate increased passenger numbers.
