Prague’s District 3 is set to invest over 330 million Czech crowns this year in a comprehensive development plan that spans education, healthcare, and recreational facilities. The ambitious project portfolio includes several marquee developments that will reshape the district’s landscape.
Education takes center stage with a substantial 167-million-crown investment. According to District Mayor Michal Vronský, this represents 16.5 percent of the district’s budget, with 87 million allocated for school operations and 80 million for facility improvements. A notable highlight is the upcoming construction of a new kindergarten in Jeseniova Street, which will accommodate 150 children across six classrooms.
Sports and recreation enthusiasts can look forward to new facilities, including a skatepark at Pražačka and a beach volleyball hall. The district is also undertaking the renovation of the park near Vinohrady Hospital and the interior of the Vinohrady polyclinic.
Infrastructure improvements are also on the agenda, with significant transport projects scheduled throughout the year. These include the reconstruction of the Pod Krejcárkem bridge from June to August, maintaining two-way traffic, and the modernization of the tram track on Želivského street between October and December.
The district’s social services will see expansion with a new facility on Pod Lipami street, featuring medical offices and a café. Additionally, parking facilities in the Vinohradská street will be renovated to accommodate 80 vehicles, with plans to implement a new license plate recognition security system.
