Prague’s Karlín neighbourhood experienced an unprecedented spectacle as the roar of Formula 1 engines echoed through its streets. For one exhilarating day, the Rohanské nábřeží was transformed into a high-octane racing circuit featuring the legendary RB7 race car.
David Coulthard, a former F1 driver and 13-time Grand Prix winner, was at the helm of this championship-winning vehicle from the 2011 season. The event, aptly named Red Bull Show Run, drew approximately 17,000 enthusiasts, all united by their passion for motorsport.
The makeshift urban track, stretching one kilometre, allowed Coulthard to showcase the raw power of F1 machinery. “It was a great drive,” Coulthard remarked, estimating speeds of up to 250 km/h at certain points. The Scottish driver even took a celebratory lap waving the Czech flag, much to the delight of the spectators.
But the show wasn’t limited to four wheels. The event featured a thrilling mix of two and four-wheeled action, including heart-stopping drifting performances by Elias Hountondji from Germany and Czech driver Marco Zakouřil in their 1000+ horsepower BMW M4 G82s. Lithuanian motorcycle stuntman Arūnas Gibieza also wowed the crowd with his daring tricks.
The atmosphere was electric, with one attendee describing it as “perfect” and another mentioning they had “goosebumps the whole time.” The event’s success places Prague alongside cities like Dallas, Sarajevo, Belfast, and Santiago de Chile, which have previously hosted the Red Bull Showrun.
As the engines cooled and the smoke cleared, it was evident that Karlín had experienced something truly extraordinary – a day when the pinnacle of motorsport brought its unparalleled excitement to the heart of Prague.
