A remarkable atmospheric phenomenon has painted Czech skies in golden hues this weekend as Saharan dust swept in from the southwest. While the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute reports that concentrations aren’t reaching extreme levels, the visual effect has been unmistakable, transforming the usual blue canvas into a distinctive yellowish shade.
The celestial spectacle is expected to reach its peak today, March 10, as the highest concentration of Saharan dust makes its way across Czech airspace.
This isn’t the first time the Czech Republic has experienced such an event. Just last year in March, the country witnessed an even more dramatic episode, with Saharan dust significantly impacting ground-level concentrations.
