After a week of gloomy skies, Czech residents can look forward to a brighter weekend. Meteorologist Dagmar Honsová reports that Saturday and Sunday will bring the least cloud cover of the entire week, with afternoon temperatures approaching a pleasant 10°C (50°F).
Thursday’s weather will be dominated by a weak occluded front, bringing overcast skies and light rain. There’s a risk of freezing rain in the morning, potentially causing slippery conditions. Temperatures will range from 2 to 6°C (36 to 43°F).
Friday will remain cloudy with occasional showers, turning to snow at higher elevations. Morning temperatures will dip to between 0 and 4°C (32 to 39°F), rising to 3 to 7°C (37 to 45°F) during the day.
The weekend will start with low clouds and fog on Saturday morning, with temperatures between -4 and 1°C (25 to 34°F). However, the day will brighten up, offering partly cloudy skies and afternoon highs of 5 to 9°C (41 to 48°F). Sunday will follow a similar pattern, with morning frost giving way to partly cloudy conditions and temperatures matching Saturday’s.
Looking ahead, Honsová warns of dynamic weather next week. Frontal systems will bring increased cloud cover, precipitation in various forms, and windy conditions. Monday will see rain in lowlands and snow in mountainous areas, with temperatures reaching up to 13°C (55°F) in the east.
Tuesday and Wednesday will continue the unsettled pattern, with overcast skies, rain, and mountain snow. Temperatures will remain relatively mild for the season, ranging from 4 to 10°C (39 to 50°F), accompanied by blustery winds.
