The Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ) has expanded its warning for black ice formation across multiple regions on Thursday morning. Initially focused on the western half of Bohemia, the alert now encompasses southern Moravia and parts of the Vysočina region.
Meteorologists have issued an updated warning that now includes the western part of the South Moravian Region, adjacent areas of Vysočina, and the Litovel and Konice districts. The warning, which was originally scheduled to take effect at noon, has been moved up to Thursday morning for these areas.
Further updates have extended the alert to cover the eastern half of Bohemia and northwestern Moravia. New additions to the warning zone include the regions of Rýmařov, Bruntál, Šternberk, and Uničov.
Freezing precipitation has already been reported in western Bohemia, southern Moravia, and the Vysočina region during the morning hours. Looking ahead, a warm front is expected to move across the territory toward the northeast on Friday.
