The Prague 13 district has begun the renovation of the area in front of the Faculty Elementary School Between Schools. The project will create new lawns and flower beds and upgrade the sidewalks. The city has provided financial support of 5.5 million CZK for the project.
The public space around schools is renovated yearly to provide quality spaces for children, their parents, and the surrounding community. The area in front of this school will feature new sidewalks, greenery, and urban furniture, such as necessary benches. The mayor of Prague 13, David Vodrážka, said that the renovation would create quality spaces for children, their parents, and the surrounding community.
Last year, the district renovated the athletic field at this school, and two new classrooms were built for preschool children.
The current renovation will remove damaged and unattractive raised flower beds and pots. The deteriorating surface of the area in front of the school and the park will be replaced, and grassy areas will be expanded. A terrain wave will be built in place of the raised flower beds, planted with two solitary trees. The entire area, including the park, will be rebuilt as a quiet and relaxing zone to improve the school’s climate conditions. The Prague 13 district received a subsidy of 5.5 million CZK from the Climate Plan of the City of Prague for the renovation project.
