Summer temperatures are returning to the Czech Republic this weekend, with the following week predicted to bring tropical temperatures exceeding 30°C. Meteorologist Dagmar Honsová warns that warm, humid air will also bring thunderstorms to the region.
In this workweek, temperatures will be below average compared to the long-term norm and drop below freezing in frosty valleys. By the weekend, however, summer temperatures will return.
On Thursday, expect scattered clouds with occasional showers and thunderstorms. Afternoon highs will reach 20-24°C.
Friday will be partly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Morning lows will be 11-7°C, with daytime highs of 20-24°C.
Saturday will be partly to mostly cloudy with lows of 13-9°C and highs of 21-25°C.
Sunday will be mostly cloudy, with occasional showers or thunderstorms. Morning lows will be 12-8°C, with highs of 22-26°C.
Next week will continue to get warmer. On Monday, expect a mix of sun and clouds with scattered showers or thunderstorms. Morning lows will be 14-10°C, with afternoon highs of 25-29°C.
Tuesday and Wednesday will be partly to mostly cloudy with scattered showers or thunderstorms. Tuesday morning lows will be 16-12°C, with highs of 26-30°C. Wednesday will have the same afternoon highs but warmer morning lows of 18-14°C.
