Due to the amount of freshly fallen snow, avalanches happened in the Jeseníky Mountains. The Mountain Service records them in avalanche cadastres connected to the third degree of avalanche danger. It warns hikers to be as careful as possible when moving in risky areas.
Avalanche danger level three persists in the Jeseníky Mountains. There is a spontaneous strike of avalanches in the avalanche cadastres of the Great Basin. This is due to heavy snowfall combined with strong winds.
The Jesenky Mountains Service records avalanches in the vicinity of the ridge both to the south and to the north. They therefore strongly urge visitors to not move in these areas. The warning is primarily directed at ski mountaineers who, despite the ban, go to these places off the tourist routes every year.
After the heavy snowfall of the past few days, there is now enough snow in other mountain areas. Last week, the mountain service in the Krkonoše Mountains warned of an increased risk of avalanches.
