After a record-breaking warm work week, the Czech Republic will experience a cool down during the last weekend of August. According to meteorologist Dagmar Honsová, temperatures will drop by 10 degrees, from around 30 degrees Celsius to just around 20 degrees Celsius.
The cooling is due to a cold front that will affect the weather in the country. “After it passes, the warm southwest currents will change to cooler northwest currents,” said Honsová. “Afternoon temperatures at the beginning of the week will be below the summer limit of 25°C.”
The cooling will begin during the weekend, although some areas in the east may still experience tropical temperatures on Saturday. The weekend will also be rich in rainfall. Honsová warns that strong thunderstorms are expected, especially on Saturday, accompanied by dangerous meteorological phenomena.
It will be mostly sunny from Thursday, with some cloudiness in the late afternoon. Morning temperatures will range from 18°C to 13°C, while afternoon temperatures will range from 29°C to 33°C.
It will be cloudy to partly cloudy on Friday, gradually becoming overcast, with occasional rain, showers, and thunderstorms. Thunderstorms will be sporadically strong. Morning temperatures will range from 21°C to 17°C, while afternoon temperatures will range from 28°C to 33°C.
Saturday will be mostly cloudy, with occasional rain and strong thunderstorms. Some areas in Bohemia will experience continuous rainfall. Morning temperatures will range from 20°C to 16°C, while afternoon temperatures will range from 25°C to 29°C, reaching up to 32°C in the east.
It will be mostly cloudy on Sunday, with rain, showers, and occasional thunderstorms. Morning temperatures will range from 19°C to 15°C, while afternoon temperatures will range from 19°C to 23°C, around 25°C in the east.
Monday will be mostly cloudy, with occasional rain or showers. Morning temperatures will range from 14°C to 10°C, while afternoon temperatures will range from 18°C to 22°C.
Tuesday will be mostly cloudy, with occasional rain or showers. Morning temperatures will range from 14°C to 10°C, while afternoon temperatures will range from 18°C to 22°C.
On Wednesday, it will be cloudy with some showers. Morning temperatures will range from 13°C to 9°C, while afternoon temperatures will range from 20°C to 24°C.
