The Czech Republic is expected to experience a week of variable weather. At the beginning of the week, high temperatures are expected to be followed by cold mornings, rain, and thunderstorms before a waving cold front hits southern Moravia, culminating in a temperature of up to 35°C on Monday. From Tuesday onward, temperatures are expected to drop significantly, but summer temperatures will return over the weekend, according to meteorologist Dagmar Honsová.
On Monday, it will be partly cloudy to overcast, with cloud cover increasing in the afternoon and scattered rainfall, accompanied by strong winds with gusts of up to 70-90 km/h in the eastern part of the country. Strong thunderstorms with the possibility of hail may also occur in the event of a supercell.
The thunderstorms will quickly cool the air. Afternoon temperatures vary significantly across the country, ranging from 26°C in the west to 35°C in southern Moravia.
It will be cloudy on Tuesday, with occasional rain and thunderstorms expected throughout the country. Morning temperatures will range from 14-18°C, while afternoon temperatures will rise to 21-25°C.
Wednesday is expected to be the coldest day of the week, with morning lows dropping to 11-15°C and afternoon temperatures reaching 17-22°C. It will be cloudy to overcast, with occasional rain or showers expected on most territory.
Thursday will mark the coldest morning of the week, with temperatures dropping to 8-13°C. However, as of Tuesday, afternoon temperatures will remain in the range of 21-25°C. Partly cloudy to overcast skies with occasional showers are expected during the day.
Morning and afternoon temperatures will rise again on Friday, with partly cloudy to overcast skies and scattered showers or thunderstorms. Morning temperatures will range from 11-15°C, while afternoon temperatures will reach 24-28°C.
On Saturday, temperatures will rise to around 30°C in some areas. It will be partly cloudy to overcast, gradually becoming overcast with scattered rainfall, showers, and thunderstorms. Morning temperatures will range from 14-18°C, while afternoon temperatures will reach 26-30°C.
Sunday will be similar to Saturday, with overcast skies, scattered rainfall, showers, and occasional thunderstorms. Morning temperatures will be around 14-18°C, while afternoon temperatures will rise to 24-28°C.
