Prime Minister Petr Fiala (ODS) and the Prime Ministers of Poland and Slovenia, Mateusz Morawiecki and Janez Janša, will visit Kyiv on Tuesday. They are expected to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister Denis Shymal.
Fiala announced the visit to Ukraine, resisting Russian aggression, on Twitter this morning. Polish Deputy Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski will also attend the meeting on behalf of the Polish side. He will also offer further assistance to the Ukrainian side.
The Russians are trying to encircle Kyiv. The capital has been repeatedly targeted by artillery fire. Hundreds of thousands of people have fled from Ukraine to neighboring countries. Most have headed to Poland, with an estimated 200,000 refugees in the Czech Republic.
The EU has imposed several packages of economic sanctions on Russia in response to its war campaign against Ukraine and is trying to help Ukraine with arms and goods.
