This week is likely the sunniest of February, with only an area of high air pressure bringing a little cloud cover. However, the nights will be chilly due to the cooling, with temperatures falling below minus 20 degrees Celsius in places on Monday night and almost to minus 30 degrees in the Bohemian Forest.
On Monday morning, temperatures in the Bohemian Forest dropped below minus 20 degrees Celsius. The coldest was at the Perla station near Kvilda, which measured minus 29.8 degrees.
The Liberec region also had a frosty night. In Jizerka in the Jizera Mountains, the temperature dropped below minus 22 degrees Celsius.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies will prevail during the day, with occasional snow showers. We expect further decreasing clouds to become almost transparent during the afternoon and evening. Afternoon temperatures will be between -2 and 2 °C.
