Meteorological spring is knocking on the door

The meteorological spring, which starts on March 1, will bring sunny weather and morning temperatures below freezing. Daytime temperatures will not exceed seven degrees Celsius next week, meteorologist Dagmar Honsová said.

“Compared to the weekend, there will be much less cloud cover and precipitation on Monday. The weather here will be influenced by a spur of high-pressure air centered over the UK. During the working week, afternoon temperatures will increase slowly, but mornings will be frosty. With little cloud and snow cover, temperatures will occasionally drop to -10C,” said Honsová.

On Wednesday, when the meteorological spring begins, and Thursday, the sunshine will be up to around 10 hours.

“The first weekend of March will see the return of a cold and moist north-to-northwesterly flow, bringing more clouds and snowfall. Only at the lowest elevations will temporary mixed rain and snow,” Honsová said.

On Monday, snow showers will occur, especially in mountainous areas, with low clouds at lower elevations at times; otherwise, sunny to almost clear to partly cloudy skies can be expected. Afternoon temperatures will remain between -1 and 4 degrees Celsius, but winds will reduce feelings to -4 to 2 degrees Celsius.

Tuesday will be partly cloudy, with low clouds in some places in the morning. Morning temperatures ranged from -2 to -7 °C, with isolated lows of -10 °C. Daytime temperatures range from 1 to 5 °C.

On Wednesday, clear to partly cloudy again, with occasional low clouds. Morning temperatures range from -1 to -6 °C; daytime temperatures range from 3 to 7 °C.

Thursday will be apparent to partly cloudy with occasional low clouds. Morning temperatures are -1 to -6 °C. Daytime temperatures are 3 to 7 °C.

Friday should be partly cloudy with occasional low clouds. Clouds will increase during the day, with snow in places and rain at lower elevations. Morning temperatures are -1 to -6 °C. Daytime temperatures are 3 to 7 °C.

On Saturday, clouds and snow showers can be expected, with occasional snow showers in the lowlands. Snow will be more persistent in the mountains. Morning temperatures range from -1 to -6 °C; daytime temperatures range from 1 to 5 °C.

Sunday will be cloudy to overcast, with snow showers in places and snow in the mountains—morning temperatures -2 to -6 °C, daytime 0 to 4 °C.
