More snow will cover the Czech Republic

Snowfall, freezing fog, ice, and frost will accompany the end of January, meteorologist Dagmar Honsová said. In the second half of this week, the weather will be under the influence of alternating frontal transitions, which means that it will gradually snow throughout the Czech Republic. There will be good conditions for skiing in the mountains.

Monday will bring considerably less precipitation than the weekend and maybe partly cloudy. Drivers should watch out for freezing fog in the mornings and afternoons. Otherwise, it should be cloudy to overcast with isolated drizzle or light snow. Precipitation will fall primarily in the territory’s north.

Afternoon temperatures will rise to -2 to 2 °C. Fresh winds will lower temperatures in the east.

Tuesday and Wednesday will post a similar scenario. Watch for isolated freezing fog in the morning and afternoon; ice or cool drizzle may also form on roads. Otherwise, cloudy to overcast skies with isolated freezing rain or light snow are expected. Partly cloudy during the day.

Morning temperatures will drop to 0 to -4 °C both days, with cooler temperatures possible in the west and north. Afternoon temperatures will rise to -1 to 3 °C. Winds will lower temperatures in the east of the territory.

Beginning Thursday, snow will fall gradually, especially in mountainous areas. Thursday will be cloudy to overcast, with gradual snow or snow showers in places. Overnight temperatures ranged from -1 to -4 °C. -2 to 2 °C during the day, rising to 4 °C in southern Moravia.

Friday will be cloudy to overcast, with snow or snow showers in most areas. Temperatures at night range from -2 to -6 degrees Celsius. Daytime temperatures range from -2 to 2 °C.
