Revealing the Fate of Czech Anne Frank: The Věrka Kohnová Diary

Writer Jana Poncarová prepared the book about the fate of a twelve-year-old Jewish girl from Pilsen in collaboration with historian Jiří Sankot. The sensitive message about one thwarted life, but also that we must not forget the injustice and suffering of others, will be revealed on the pages of the Věrka Kohnová Diary.

According to Jana Poncarová, it is not a novel. It is a combination of several genres. With co-author Jiří Sankot, both creators wanted to present a comprehensive picture of the short life of the Jewish girl Věrka Kohnová.

As Martina Vydrová from Albatros Media said, the book will be accompanied by a lecture in the capital city.

A composed evening with a performance by the Lauder Schools children’s choir will take place on April 20 at 7:00 pm in the Maisel Synagogue. Admission is free.

The original diary of Věrka Kohnová is stored in the Prague Jewish Museum, and visitors to the mentioned lecture will also be able to see it.
