The Fiala government is tightening measures

At its first regular session, the government of Petr Fiala (ODS) restricted the holding of events starting on December 29. Only 50 people will be allowed to attend parties and celebrations. A maximum of 1,000 people will participate in cultural and other events. Events where participants are not seated at tables, will be limited to 100 people.

Event organizers will be required to check COVID certificates using the čTečka app, which is used to retrieve a QR code from the Tečka app where COVID certificates are uploaded. Restaurants will also be affected by the changes. Only four people will be able to sit at a table again. Now, six people can sit there. However, closing times will not be restricted.

The restrictions will apply from Wednesday, December 29, to Sunday, January 2.

The government has also agreed to test children and school staff for coronavirus on Mondays and Thursdays for the first two weeks of January.

At the same time, shop opening hours on Christmas Eve will also be restricted to noon, completely closing on December 25.
