The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are no longer fever, cough, and a loss of smell and taste. The earliest symptoms, according to British scientists, have dramatically changed. They mention a delta mutation that has become common in India. Patients use a mobile app to keep track of their symptoms.
According to the ZOE Covid-19 Symptom Study, the app has been tracking users’ major symptoms since the beginning of May, and they are no longer the same. The research is being carried out with the help of a smartphone application that collects vital information about Covid-19. So far, this application has been downloaded by over four million people.
Cough, fever, and loss of smell and taste were previously described as the three main symptoms by the National Health Service of the United Kingdom. The current symptoms, on the other hand, are more flu-like. Headache, sore throat, and runny nose are the most prevalent.
This shift is attributed to the spread of a coronavirus mutation known as “Delta,” which was initially discovered in India, according to British researchers. It is currently responsible for up to 90% of coronavirus cases in the United Kingdom.
In the United Kingdom, more than 41 million people have gotten at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine. Despite the fact that the UK is experiencing a new outbreak, the disease is primarily affecting people under the age of 30.
