The winter weather gives up, and the Czech Republic is going to get warmer

The weekend’s freezing weather, when the temperature in Sněžka, for example, did not rise above -10 °C, is over, and the weather will gradually warm up in the coming days, meteorologist Dagmar Honsová said.

According to her forecast, we can expect days rich in precipitation but a noticeable increase in air temperatures, even in the morning lows. Snow will gradually fall only on the highest mountain peaks.

“On Saturday, we also recorded a so-called arctic day on Sněžka, when the temperature did not rise above -10 °C. “The majority of the snow fell on Šumava—up to 20 cm—and an occlusion front will bring the next snowfall on the mountains on Monday,” Honsová explained.

The occlusion front crossing the Czech Republic will bring plenty of precipitation. It is expected to snow on the mountains, rain with snow, or just rain at lower altitudes. It will gradually warm up, especially in the second half of the week, with a noticeable temperature increase.

Monday will see the most clouds and precipitation first thing in the morning and the afternoon. The rain will stop in the afternoon, and the clouds will thin to partly cloudy. Isolated, freezing fog may form in the evening. Afternoon temperatures will be between 2 and 7 °C.

Similar weather is expected on Tuesday. It will be cloudy to overcast, with rain in some places and snow from higher altitudes. During the day, there will be occasional freezing rain. Occasional freezing fog. Morning temperatures will range from 1 to -3 °C, with daytime temperatures ranging from 2 to 6 °C.

We will not enjoy much sunshine on Wednesday. It will be cloudy to overcast, with rain in some places and snow from higher altitudes. Morning temperatures will rise to 2 to -2 °C, and daytime temperatures to 3 to 7 °C.

The second half of the week should bring warmer temperatures. Thursday will be cloudy and rainy in places, with snow in the mountains, but temperatures will rise. Morning temperatures will range between 2 and -2 degrees Celsius, with daytime temperatures between 4 and 8 degrees Celsius.

Friday will be cloudy to overcast, with rain in some places and snow in the mountains. Morning temperatures will be between 4 and 0 °C, and daytime temperatures will be between 5 and 9 °C.
