The Czech Republic is set to experience tropical temperatures this week. Forecasts for Tuesday and Wednesday predict temperatures reaching 30 degrees and above. Notably, some regions in Moravia are expected to experience a tropical night, where the temperature does not drop below 20 degrees.
“As of yesterday, we have already reached tropical temperatures of 30 degrees in certain areas of the Czech Republic. The Husinec-Řež station recorded the highest temperature of 30.4 degrees Celsius. Today, there will be even more places with temperatures reaching 30, especially in Central Bohemia, Prague, and South Moravia,” said the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ).
The Institute also noted that the Czech Republic will be blessed with much sunshine, and rainfall will be nearly absent. “Showers or thunderstorms will only occur occasionally, likely only in the northwest and north of the country,” the meteorologists added.
According to them, the night into Wednesday will also be warm. “It is possible that there will be places in Moravia where the temperature does not drop below 20 degrees Celsius,” the ČHMÚ stated.
The same high temperatures are also predicted for Wednesday. “Even in South Moravia and likely in Ostrava, it will be even warmer, with maximum temperatures approaching 33 degrees Celsius,” they wrote. Conversely, the temperature will only be around 24 degrees Celsius in the north and northwest of Bohemia. “Clouds and rain will also appear more frequently there, with thunderstorms in the northern half of Moravia and Silesia in the afternoon,” the meteorologists added.
