On Wednesday, there were 1,857 new coronavirus infections in the Czech Republic. The R number has fallen to 0.848, indicating how many people one infected person can infect.
Prime Minister Andrej Babis told the website Denik N that Czechs over 45 might be able to register for COVID vaccination as early as next week.
3.34 million does of vaccines have been administered. Over a million Czechs have completed their vaccinations.
“Access for the age group 40-44 will be available later in May.” The target is to open the 16-39 group by June 1 at the latest,“ added Andrej Babis.
