The reconstruction of Prague’s Barrandov Bridge should begin in the first half of May this year. Adam Scheinherr, deputy mayor for transport, said this on Tuesday. The bridge will not be closed during the repairs, and traffic will be restricted to one of the four lanes in each direction.
The reconstruction will begin with the removal and construction of a new ramp from Strakonická Street. The Technical Road Administration (TSK) is now evaluating bids from construction contractors and is also discussing possible detour routes.
Repairs for many years
The reconstruction is spread over several years, with traffic permanently restricted only partially and only for part of the construction season. Switch ropes, insulation, or crash walls that are unsatisfactory will be added. Road surfaces will be replaced, and TSK will repair parts where there are pavements and bollards, and lighting.
It is unclear precisely what work will be carried out and when. It will depend on the outcome of the tender, where bidders had to propose a timetable and procedure for the repairs in addition to the length of the work.
