This Friday a march in solidarity with Palestine will happen in Prague at Klarov.
Following the passage of an Israeli law that legalized the expulsion of Palestinian families from their homes and their displacement by Israeli settlers, a wave of protests swept through Sheikh Jarrah, a Palestinian quarter in occupied East Jerusalem. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and other branches of the Israeli government have since injured and detained hundreds of Palestinians. Furthermore, the violence in Al-Aqsa mosque during Ramadan, Islam’s holiest month, has left countless Palestinians injured both inside the compound and in Jerusalem. The Israeli military’s bombardment of Gaza, which came after IDF attacks in Sheikh Jarrah and Al-Aqsa, has resulted in 43 deaths, 13 of whom are children.
The march will begin at 14:00 at Klárov located next to Malostranska metro station. The organizers will give speeches and provide music breaks, followed by a march through Chotkova street to the Israeli embassy, where participants can lay candles, flowers, and banners in support of the Palestinian cause.
