Four Thousand People Protested Against Minister of Justice in the Center of Prague

According to police estimates, about 3,500 to 4,000 people took part in the demonstration on Wenceslas Square against the Minister of Justice Maria Benešová. Protestors demanded that the new chief prosecutor be elected by the new government.

The demonstration began shortly after 5:30 pm in Albertov, from where the march went to the Ministry of Justice.

Benešová’s participants left a resignation letter in front of the building. After 6.30 pm, the procession arrived on Wenceslas Square, where the protest ended after two hours.

On Wenceslas Square, Hana Strašáková from Million Moments of Democracy kept stating that the Minister of Justice could not be a person who claims without evidence that criminal prosecution can be ordered in the Czech Republic, according to which there are several investigative versions of the Vrbětice explosions which were confirmed to be associated with the Russian government.
