Italy plans to allow tourists

According to Prime Minister Mario Draghi, foreign guests will be able to visit Italy again from the middle of May. The country will submit its own green vaccination passport before a single EU passport is created.

However, no other specific requirements are known yet. Green passports are usually reserved for fully vaccinated tourists to enter the country, but many countries also use negative tests as an alternative. Thus, it can be assumed that one test is enough to arrive in Italy, be it PCR or antigen.

Single European vaccine passport is expected to be introduced in mid June and will facilitate travel between the EU member states. The digital document will contain information about a person’s vaccination or coronavirus test results.

Some countries, especially those dependent on tourism, do not want to wait for a single European vaccine passport. In addition to Italy; Greece, Spain and Portugal announced opening borders for tourists.
