Order Your Christmas Gifts Early, or They Won’t Make It Under the Tree: Delivery Services Announce Deadlines

As the holiday season approaches, the demand for delivery services is set to skyrocket. With an increasing number of people opting to avoid crowded stores and shop for gifts online, it’s crucial to keep track of the deadlines set by shipping companies to ensure your presents arrive in time for Christmas Eve.

DPD, one of the leading courier services, will be delivering packages right up until December 23rd. However, to guarantee timely delivery, senders must hand over their parcels to the carrier no later than Friday, December 20th. For those who prefer self-service options, DPD’s lockers will be accessible even on Christmas Eve.

Zásilkovna, another popular delivery service, has set Wednesday, December 18th as the cutoff date for drop-offs at collection points, and Thursday, December 19th for depot submissions. The company strongly advises against last-minute shopping, though they promise to do their best to deliver parcels received by December 19th before Christmas.

GLS will be accepting packages until Monday, December 23rd, but their director, Pavel Včela, echoes the sentiment of ordering early. For home or office deliveries, GLS guarantees Christmas arrival for parcels handed over by Thursday, December 19th, while pickup points and lockers have an extra day’s grace until Friday, December 20th.

Major e-commerce players are also gearing up for the holiday rush. Alza, a prominent online retailer, is offering guaranteed Christmas delivery for orders placed up until December 22nd. They’re even extending their services to Christmas Eve, with both lockers and morning branch pickups available.

As the holiday season approaches, remember that planning ahead and being aware of these deadlines can save you from disappointment and ensure your gifts make it under the tree in time for Christmas morning.
