Police found the missing girl in Karlovy Vary after three days

On Friday last week, a 14-year-old girl who went missing from a playground in Karlovy Vary was found safe at her friend’s house on Monday evening. It was announced after 10 pm by Karlovy Vary Regional Police spokeswoman Kateřina Pešková.The girl was taken from Cheb to the SOS Sluníčko organization in Karlovy Vary-Doubí.

“The missing 14-year-old girl was found safe,” Pešková only said in a text message. The spokeswoman didn’t answer further telephone inquiries, such as under what circumstances the girl was traced.

On Friday, 22 October, the girl went together with several other children to a playground near the block of flats in Svatošská Street. After a while, she started to leave the playground, so the caregiver from the organization followed her. However, she subsequently lost sight of her.

On Sunday, 24 October, a letter was found in the missing girl’s room in which she wrote about her problems and possible self-harm. For this reason, police were afraid that the girl may have been in danger of her life.
