Prague Castle To Receive 200 Million Crowns

“Due to the six-month closure of the Prague Castle area, the Prague Castle Administration has become completely dependent on the government’s contribution of CZK 211.1 million in 2021. Revenues from its own activities for the first quarter of 2021 are minimal, amounting to only CZK 4.3 million as of 31 March 2021 out of the planned CZK 289.59 million. The operating loss from core business is CZK 70 million at the end of Q1,” the material states.

The total expenditure of the Office of the President of the Republic, which is one of the chapters of the state budget, will thus rise from CZK 428.3 million to CZK 628.3 million. The administration of Prague Castle falls under the Presidential Office. Before the increase, the expenditure on the Prague Castle and Lány Castle area alone was originally planned at CZK 211.1 million.

The government took a similar step last September, when the Prague Castle Administration received an extra CZK 215 million. In this context, the material states that the Prague Castle Administration fully used the money last year for energy, repairs and maintenance or other services.
