Shopping without respirators or masks in Czech Republic

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said that Americans who received two doses of the coronavirus vaccine no longer need to wear a mask or keep a distance. Will the Czech Republic follow the footsteps of the United States?

Epidemiologist Petr Smejkal, agrees with the new rules imposed in the United States and will introduce them also in the Czech Republic.

This will happen when Czechia will reach the same situation as the United States in terms of immunization. Americans have about 45 to 50 percent of the vaccinated population, so Czechia can only get to such a state during the summer.

But epidemiologist and former health minister – Roman Primula notes that the only question is the amount of vaccination. Government must declare that if the virus spreads to some extent among the vaccinated population, measures must be taken to protect the unvaccinated individuals.

If vaccinated people are significantly less infectious, the Czech Republic can then cancel wearing masks and respirators as a protective measure.
