As the sun sets on October 10th, Prague will once again be transformed into a canvas of light and wonder with the return of the Signal Festival. Now in its twelfth year, this captivating event promises to dazzle visitors with a total of 17 installations, plus an additional 5 in augmented reality.

This year’s festival introduces an exciting new route through the Prague Castle area, allowing attendees to explore a two-kilometer trail of illuminated artworks for the first time. The journey begins at the Prague Castle Riding School, where Korean artist Seohyo has created a colorful projection incorporating elements of Prague’s architecture.

A highlight of the festival is the videomapping by Filip Hodas on the Archbishop’s Palace. This internationally acclaimed Czech artist, known for his viral creations, will blur the lines between fiction and reality in his piece “Eternal Recurrence”. The artistic projection will be accompanied by music from one of the Czech Republic’s most successful producers and DJs, Pavel Ridoško, alias Rida.

The Old Town route features equally impressive installations, including a videomapping show on the facade of the Municipal Library by the Spanish-Danish visual duo Desilence. Their projection, “The Rhythm of the Ocean,” will transport viewers into the depths of the sea, accompanied by music from five-time Grammy nominee Suzanne Ciani.

For those interested in a more immersive experience, the Gallery Zone offers access to significant cultural institutions. Visitors can explore monumental objects by Jiří Příhoda at the Sternberg Palace and an interactive projection by Michael Bielický and Kamila B. Richter at the Schwarzenberg Palace. The Gallery route concludes at Kunsthalle Prague, showcasing an exhibition by the British group UVA, known for their collaboration with Massive Attack.
