Stricter border controls will be introduced due to changes in the Slovak anti-epidemic system. “Checks will be carried out on selected trains and at train stations. Some small, less important border crossings will be closed,” the tvnoviny.sk website quotes Denisa Bárdyová, a spokeswoman for the Slovak Police Presidium.

And what exactly does the tightening of controls mean?

“During the checks, police officers will check registration on the eHranice website as well as proof of compliance with the conditions for granting an exemption to enter quarantine,” Bárdyová said. She also asked citizens to prepare all the necessary documents and confirmation of a negative test, illness or vaccination before the check.

Compulsory registration and confirmation

According to the website of the Czech Embassy in Bratislava, in order to enter Slovakia, it is obligatory to register via the eHranica application and to prove a negative PCR test no older than 72 hours, an antigen test no older than 24 hours, a vaccination certificate or a certificate of having undergone Covid.
