The Czech Interior Ministry has informed Ukrainian citizens whose residence permits in the Czech Republic are expiring and cannot be renewed that they can stay in the Czech Republic due to the situation in Ukraine. Russia attacked Ukraine on Thursday and declared a state of war.

“It is not necessary to resolve the residence situated in the Czech Republic immediately. If your residence permit is expiring and cannot be further extended, you can stay in the territory, “the Interior Ministry said, adding that Ukrainians should wait for further information.

Ukrainian citizens with biometric passports can enter the Czech Republic without a visa.

Czech citizens should leave Ukraine. They have been advised to do so by the Foreign Ministry. The embassy in Kyiv has been temporarily closed, and only the Consulate General in Lviv is functioning.
