The White House announced that in a phone call to the head of the Kremlin , Biden had offered to hold a bilateral summit in the coming months to “discuss the range of issues facing the United States and Russia .” He reaffirmed his intention to “build stable and predictable relations with Russia” in line with US interests.
Biden expressed concern about the sudden escalation of military forces in annexed Crimea and indicated that the United States would act decisively and defend its national interests for protecting the sovereignty of Ukraine.
