From May 1st, Czech Post is changing the operating hours at its branch on Jindřišská Street in Prague 1. The post office will no longer be open at night and on Sundays, and Saturday opening times will also be adjusted. Customers can visit the branch from Monday to Friday, between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m., and on Saturdays, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
For residents of Prague 1, the branch of Prague Castle, offering the Czech Point service, among other things, remains available over the weekends. This branch will be open between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The changes at the Jindřišská branch are being made due to its low usage during night hours when, between 10 pm and 6 am, a minimum number of clients were served. A similar situation was observed during the weekends, according to Karolina Šnejdarová, the spokesperson for Prague 1.
According to Šnejdarová, the change in opening hours brings several potential benefits for locals. “The operation will adapt to the real demand for postal services. Employees who served clients during night hours will be able to provide postal services during the new opening hours, thus increasing the staffing capacity of the branch,” she mentioned.
Šnejdarová also reminded that it is possible to make a reservation at the Jindřišská branch and, depending on the reservation time, go in priority regardless of the current number of customers. Reservations can be made through the Pošta Online mobile application or the Czech Post website.
